Property Tax - Mill Rates
Property taxes are calculated by applying municipal and school mill rates against the portioned assessment of your property. By definition, a mill is a one-thousandth part. For calculating taxes, one mill represents $1.00 of taxes for every $1,000.00 of portioned assessment.
Example:

Portioned Assessment	x	Municipal Mill Rate 1000	=	Municipal Taxes

Property Tax刚刚涨了啊，很多House都有收到政府的邮件，官方估价都涨了，地税跟着水涨船高。

this year,  City of Winnipeg still kept the propety tax freeze for the 12th years...
in the future, yes, there will be a big unexpecting raise!
