“睡美人”状态的细菌学术上称为:VBNC(viable but non-culturable),指的是包括多种病原菌在内的很多细菌在受到外界不利因素的影响时(例如低温、高盐度、氧化剂等),会进入活的但不可培养(VBNC)状态。这种状态的细菌不能在传统的平板上生长形成菌落,但仍然保持完整的细胞结构和一定生理活性,甚至致病性;且在特定条件下,其可培养性可能恢复,重新成为正常细胞,就像传说中沉睡的公主被王子唤醒。
