Flights to Brazil

Codeshare Flights
Passengers who purchase travel on a codeshare flight (ie, a flight with an Air Canada flight number, but operated by another airline) are subject to the checked baggage policy of the airline operating their flight.
If your itinerary includes a connection to/from a flight not operated by Air Canada, the baggage policy of the carrier operating the first segment of your itinerary applies for all flights until you reach your destination. For example:
Travel between Toronto and Auckland via Los Angeles:
Toronto – Los Angeles operated by Air Canada
Los Angeles – Auckland operated by Air New Zealand
The baggage rules of Air Canada apply.
Travel between Chicago and Milan via Toronto and Frankfurt:
Chicago – Toronto operated by United
Toronto – Frankfurt operated by Air Canada
Frankfurt – Milan operated by Lufthansa
The baggage rules of United apply.
Please note that if your baggage cannot be through-checked (ie, if you must claim your baggage and recheck it with another airline for your onward connection), your baggage allowance is subject to the rules of the airlines with which you check your baggage.
Learn more about codeshare flights, and the policies of Air Canada’s codeshare partners.
Important Information
Passengers whose travel involves connecting flights on other carriers should enquire at the airport check-in counter if they may check their bags to their final destination, or if they must claim their luggage at the connection point and check it in again when connecting to another flight.
Passengers who have opted out of their checked baggage allowance are not entitled to check any bags for free. Customers who wish to opt back in to check baggage will be charged $50 per passenger, per direction.
Special Tips
Do not place the following items in your checked baggage car and house keys, medications, cash, as well as high value items such as cameras, jewelry and electronic devices. Always place these items in your carry-on baggage.
Do not place the following items in either your checked or carry-on baggage: camping fuels (e.g. propane), matches and lighters. These and other seemingly harmless items are considered dangerous goods onboard an aircraft.
Do not wrap bungee cords, ties or straps around baggage.
Remove all old airline tags from your luggage.
Attach identification tags to the inside and outside of the bag, noting your destination as well as home address and relevant contact information.
